Barnstormers Shut Out Patriots 1-0

61114gameBridgewater, NJ- The Lancaster Barnstormers defeated the Somerset Patriots 1-0 at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday night.

 

The Barnstormers broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI single by Ben Francisco for the only run of the game.

 

The Patriots had the tying and winning runs on in the bottom of the ninth, but failed to plate any runs.

 

Lancaster starter Mark Rogers (3-1) picked up the win with six scoreless innings pitched. Patriots starter Derell McCall (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing a run on seven hits in six innings of work. Jason Urquidez earned his fifth save of the season.

 

The 2014 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Thursday night with a 7:05 pm game against the Lancaster Barnstormers.
