Somerset ‘Palace’ is Locale for County’s Largest Business Gathering

Somerset County Business PartnershipThe largest gathering of business in Somerset County is set for Dec. 16 at The Palace, 333 Davidson Ave. in Somerset.

The event is the Somerset County Business Partnership’s “Annual Meeting & Celebration of Success.” The event begins at 11:30 a.m., with a luncheon at 12:15 p.m.

The luncheon will include a presentation of “the economic and sustainability goals and objectives set for Somerset County businesses in 2014 and recognition of the 2013 Economic Vitality recipients and awarding of a Lifetime Achievement Award,” according to a release on the event.

Recipients of Partnership honors include:

  • Primus Green Energy of Hillsborough for their significant growth over the past five years, creating dozens of high-value jobs and attracting millions of dollars in foreign investment.
  • M&E Engineers of Somerville for the company’s growth due in part to its leadership position in sustainable and resilient engineering design, energy modeling, energy audits.
  • The Center School of Branchburg – which has plans to move into Somerset – for their success in educating learning disabled students with a strong focus on training to enable entry into the work force.
  • A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Rocque D. Dameo of Dameo Trucking for his contributions to the Somerset County community for more that sixty years. The Lifetime Achievement Award is only presented when an individual’s history of positive contribution to Somerset County reaches a pinnacle of dedication and accomplishment.

“The Annual Meeting is the most important gathering of the year in Somerset County,” Business Partnership CEO Mike Kerwin said in the release. “It transcends the business community, representing to the general public the hard work and innovation that has contributed to making Somerset County the great place to live, work, and recreate.”

“The broad range of attendees, from federal and state elected officials to interested residents makes the Annual Meeting Somerset County’s premier annual event,” he said.
