Three Run Fifth Inning Leads Patriots To 5-2 Win

831huntonweb-1472696155-1773Waldorf, MD – The Somerset Patriots (28-25, 66-57) scored three times in the fifth inning to break the tie and ultimately defeat the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (24-28, 50-72) 5-2 Wednesday evening from Regency Furniture Stadium.

 

“This was a hard fought, crisp game by us,” said Jon Hunton who notched his league leading 34th save by throwing a perfect 12 pitch bottom of the 9th inning. “In years past we have usually clinched a spot at this point, but we know every game matters as we are looking to get ahead in the standings.”
