Somerset Woods Rehabilitation and Nursing Center celebrated its grand opening June 29 with food, music and the traditional ribbon cutting.
The center, located at 780 Old New Brunswick Rd., offers three floors of private and semiprivate rooms, skilled nursing care and a full range of rehab services provided by Kessler Rehabilitation.
The grand opening was a way to “show our nursing home to the local neighbors and doctors,” said Joseph Friedman, the center’s administrator.
“We’ve partnered with all the top doctors, physicians, hospital groups, and vendors in the communty to make sure we provide premium care,” Friedman said. “We’re showing them around our home, so they can see for themselves the care and the beauty of the facility, so they can feel comfortable to bring their patients or their loved ones here.”
Guests toured the facility against the backdrop of a string quartet playing in the main lobby.
Mayor Phillip Kramer was on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon. Afterword, Kramer said that he watched the center being built as he drove by to and from his way to work.
“Franklin has an excellent facility providing excellent health care for people,” Kramer said. “I think this is goingto be another feather in Franklin’s hat.”
