Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots will receive the Community Service Award from Alternatives Inc. for the team’s work in providing assistance and support to Alternatives, Inc. and their clientele.
Alternatives, Inc. is a community-based; non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with special needs reach their highest level of independence and integration into the community by providing residential opportunities coupled with comprehensive support services.
The Somerset Patriots have worked alongside Alternatives, Inc. throughout the team’s existence to provide individuals with special needs seasonal jobs at the ballpark, as well as Alternatives’ clients with tickets to games through the team’s Corporate Care program.
“Since day one, the Somerset Patriots wanted to be good neighbors and make the ballpark accessible to everyone. We have enjoyed our relationship with Alternatives, Inc. to provide opportunities for special needs individuals to work at and enjoy Somerset Patriots games throughout the season,” said Patrick McVerry, President/General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
The Somerset Patriots will receive the award at a Holiday Awards Dinner on Thursday, December 4th at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Somerset, NJ.
