Comfort Aid International (CAI) is a USA registered non-profit 501(c)(3) entity that is involved in global humanitarian assistance, especially education of poor and destitute children.

CAI is constructing a girls elementary school for 300 and an orphanage for 60 destitute girls in Kabul, Afghanistan. This $410,000 school/orphanage facility will commence construction on May 8, 2014 when the CEO of CAI, Ali Yusufali and Abbas Jaffer, a CAI Trustee are present in the country. The new orphanage, in a more secure area, will replace the current 30 orphanage rented facility and the school income will supplement the operations cost of the orphanage. Completion of project is scheduled for September 2015.

Comfort Aid International sponsored an Empowerment through Education fundraising dinner at Masjid e Ali in Somerset, on April 26, 2014 which brought approximately 300 donors and well-wishers, where over $165,000 was raised for the school/orphanage project. Attendees from across the tristate area were excited to hear from various speakers, listen to first hand accounts from the orphans through their letters, and the Comfort Aid International panel spoke about this project and strategies to help empower and educate orphans in Afghanistan.
