Somerset Family Physical Therapy is holding a food drive for the Franklin Food Bank.
The drive is gong on through April 27 at the practice’s office at 14M Worlds Fair Drive, as a prelude to the Food Bank’s Tour de Franklin fundraising bike tour.
Items currently in demand include peanut butter, jelly, pasta, canned sauce, canned beans, rice, canned fruit, canned vegetable, cereal and canned tuna fish.
“At Somerset Family Physical Therapy, we pride ourselves on not only providing quality care for our patients but also to give back to the community which we live and work in,” said Kevin Kurtz, the practice’s owner.
Donations will be accepted during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
In addition to collecting food donations for the Food Bank, Kurtz and his daughter ride in the Tour.
“This year will be the 6th year in a row that I am participating in the Tour de Franklin bike race with my daughter, Shannon,” he said. “This all started when Shannon’s swim coach, Henry Fryczynski told the team they could use the event as a dry land practice. It was a great event to see the team ride together.”
“Since then it has become an annual bonding event for Shannon, her friends and I,” Kurtz said.
