Sugar Land, TX – The Sugar Land Skeeters (7-5) defeated the Somerset Patriots (6-4) 3-1 Tuesday evening from Constellation Field.
In the bottom of the sixth inning shortstop Beamer Weems laced a RBI double to give Sugar Land a 1-0 advantage.
Somerset tied the contest at 1-1 in the ensuing half inning as shortstop Robert Andino socked a RBI sacrifice fly.
Sugar Land plated a pair of two out runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to grab a 3-1 lead which would be the final. Designated hitter Delwyn Young slapped a RBI double while catcher Chris Wallace recorded a RBI single.
Cory VanAllen (3-0) earned the win in relief. Andrew Carignan (0-1) suffered the loss in relief. Adrian Martin notched the save (4) throwing a scoreless ninth inning.
