Revolution Hold Off Patriots 5-4

Bridgewater, NJ – The York Revolution (14-5, 48-40) defeated the Somerset Patriots (6-13, 48-41) 5-4 in the evening game of Wednesday’s day-night doubleheader at TD Bank Ballpark.

York took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a home run by James Skelton (9).

In the bottom of the second inning, Scott Kelly reached on a fielder’s choice, and an error on the play, allowed a run to score to tie up the ballgame.

The Revolution went back in front on a sacrifice fly by Isaias Tejeda in the top of the fourth inning.

The Patriots answered with a run on a Justin Pacchioli RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie up the game at 2-2.

York regained the lead in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI double by Tejeda and a two-run home run by Carlos Franco (5) for a 5-2 advantage.

Somerset rallied again to make it a one-run game on an RBI groundout by Craig Massey and a hard-hit infield RBI single by Gabriel Bracamonte that made the score 5-4.

Julio Perez (5-1) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Bobby Blevins (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing five earned runs on nine hits in six innings pitched. Jameson McGrane earned his 12th save of the season with a scoreless 1.1 innings pitched and three strikeouts.

The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Thursday, August 1st with a 7:05 pm game against the York Revolution at TD Bank Ballpark.
