May 9

  • James Lawrence of Somerset was cited for careless driving after his car collided with one driven by Julius Arinzeh of Somerset. Arinzeh said he was driving on Route 27 when Lawrence’s car turned in front of his.
  • Stephanie Beckles of Somerset was cited for careless driving and failure to exhibit driving credentials after her car rear-ended one driven on Route 27 by Artesia Fryar, also of Somerset.
  •  Samuel Johnson of Somerset was cited for failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, driving without insurance and careless driving after her car was involved in an accident on Norma Avenue. Brianna Angers of Maryland told police that her car was stopped behind Johnson’s, when Johnson moved into teh Hamilton Street intersection, then backed into her car and left the scene.

May 10

  • A Coach purse valued at $40, a wallet valued at $20 and personal papers were stolen from a car parked outside a Bennington parkway home.
  • The front door of a boarded-up home on Baier Avenue was found open. DPW secured the door.
  • Donte Dowdell, 21, of Somerset was arrested on an outstanding New Brunswick warrant. He was later released on $1,000 bail.
  • John Archibald, 32, of Somerset, was arrested on two outstanding township warrants.
  • Jade Godfrey-Phipps, 30, of Somerset, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
  • Leondress Killings, 39, of Somerset, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
  • Michael Thomas, 47, of Somerset, was arrested on outstanding warrants after he turned himself in.
  • Elizabeth Herrera of Bound Brook said she could not stop her car fast enough on Easton Avenue to avoid rear-ending a car driven by Yun Mao of Basking Ridge. That impact forced Mao’s car into the rear of one driven by Stacy Eleazar of Sewell, which was in turn pushed into the rear of a car driven by Miles Stafford of Toms River. Stafford said he had to stop short because a car ahead of his stopped suddenly to turn left onto Culver Street.
  • Andrzej Kierecinski of New Brunswick was cited for careless driving after his car rear-ended one driven on Cedar Grove Lane by Kitaka McRae-Roberts of Raritan.
  • Barbara Atatimur was cited for failure to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident after she backed her car out of her driveway on Marigold Lane, across the street, over the curb and the front lawn at 6 Marigold Lane and then into a tree. She then pulled forward, ran off the road again, went over a curb onto her own lawn and drove away. She was later found and said since no one was injured, she didn’t feel it was necessary to call police.
  • Sheryl Bruce of New Brunswick was cited for careless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle after her car collided with one driven by Nerdis Rodriguez of Manville on Franklin Boulevard. Rodriguez said Bruce turned in front of her car.
