The Franklin High School Warrior Marching Band took home several trophies Oct. 10 from the 22nd annual Hillsborough High School Marching Band festival in Hillsborough.

Trophies won were for Best Music, arranged by band co-director Daniel Berz; Best Color Guard, directed by Betty Gupta and Adrian Drayton, and Best Percussion, arranged by Ankit Somani and Nathan Sankari.

In addition to Berz, the band is co-directed by Eric Diaz. Additional staff adding to this performance include Harold Wright and Judah Brown.

The band’s show was entitled “Spirit of Humanity.” Drum majors Thomas Swayne and Karrington Wheeler led the band and color guard through 4 selections representing various human emotions including curiosity, compassion, rage and determination.

“I am extremely proud of how much the band has improved, and I am even more excited about how much room for improvement they still have,” Berz said.
