Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (8-5, 58-25) defeated the Camden Riversharks (3-10, 31-52) 2-1 Tuesday evening at Campbell’s Field.
In the top of the first inning third baseman Greg Hopkins laced a RBI double to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.
Shortstop Brandon Chaves tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning with a RBI single.
The Patriots retook the lead in the top of the seventh inning as catcher Adam Donachie served a RBI single making the score 2-1.
Mickey Storey earned the win (5-2) tossing six innings while surrendering one run on five hits. Bill Murphy sustained the loss (2-10) hurling seven innings while scattering two runs on seven hits. Jon Hunton notched the save (22) pitching the final inning.
