Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Camden Riversharks 6-0 on Thursday evening at TD Bank Ballpark to salvage the series.
The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Damaso Espino.
Somerset added a run on an RBI double by Jonny Tucker in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 2-0 advantage.
The Patriots opened up the game with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. RBI singles by Espino and Cory Harrilchak got the scoring started and a two-run single by Nate Spears gave the Patriots a 6-0 lead.
Patriots starter Zach Kroenke (2-1) picked up the win with a complete game shutout. Camden starter Ryan Kulik (1-1) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on five hits in 6.1 innings pitched.
The Turnpike Series between the Patriots and Riversharks is now 4-2 in favor of Somerset.
