Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 2-1 in 13 innings at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday evening.
The winning run crossed the plate on an RBI fielder’s choice that allowed Robbie Widlansky to reach safely with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th inning.
The Blue Crabs took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a Cyle Hankerd RBI double.
The Patriots tied up the game in the fourth on an RBI single by Adam Donachie.
Jason Lowey (3-0) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Erik Hamren (1-2) took the loss, allowing an earned run on two hits in 0.1 innings pitched.
The 2014 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Sunday afternoon with a 1:05 pm game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
