Patriots Eliminate Bluefish From Playoff Race With 6-2 Win

Bridgeport, CT – The Somerset Patriots (36-27, 86-47) defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish (28-35, 54-79) 6-2 Tuesday evening at Harbor Yard. Bridgeport has been eliminated from postseason contention with tonight’s loss so Somerset’s first round opponent will be Long Island.

In the top of the fourth inning the Patriots exploded for five runs to grab a 5-0 advantage. Both third baseman Greg Hopkins and shortstop Robert Andino clubbed RBI doubles. Center fielder Jonny Tucker poked a two RBI single while left fielder Mike Wilson ripped a RBI single.
