Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (16-10, 63-33) completed the three game sweep of the Camden Riversharks (11-14, 34-61) by winning 9-2 Sunday afternoon from Campbell’s Field.
In the top of the second inning center fielder Cory Harrilchak ripped a RBI single to give Somerset an early 1-0 advantage.
Right fielder Luis Montanez hammered a three run home run (12) in the top of the third inning to expand the Patriots lead to 4-0.
Second baseman Mike Albaladejo notched a RBI single in the home half of the fourth frame to make the score 4-1.
Montanez hit a RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning as Somerset added to its lead at 5-1.
Designated hitter Daryle Ward sprayed a two RBI single in the top of the sixth inning to make the contest 7-1.
Somerset plated a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning as second baseman Jeff Dominguez socked a two RBI single upping the lead to 9-1.
Camden scored in the bottom of the seventh inning as third baseman Bryan Pounds pounded a RBI double making the score 9-2.
Matt Maloney (7-5) earned the win tossing six innings while allowing one run. Greg Miller (0-8) sustained the loss hurling two innings while allowing one run.
