In Your opinion: Vote For Pranzatelli And Pritchard For Freeholder

By Karina Chipantiza, Antonio Merlos and Chris Petrone.

We are employees of Anthony “Tony” Pranzatelli, owner of Pranzatelli’s Audio Outlet in Bound Brook. We want to tell you how much Tony has meant to each of us and our families as a strong, compassionate small businessman, and the difference he’s made in the lives of so many others in our region.

Tony carries on the business started by his parents many decades ago, and he’s earned the loyalty of customers both in Bound Brook and across Somerset County. He’s honest as the day is long, with a smile for everyone and a heart of gold. How do we know this? When the “Great Recession” hit and lowered the profit Tony was making from his business, he could have maintained that by laying off 3 employees – the 3 of us signing this letter.

Karina is a single mother raising 2 kids. Chris Petrone is a young man who lives with his parents because the economy makes it hard for young workers like him to earn enough income to live on their own. And Antonio is a Mexican-American immigrant trying to live the American Dream in Bound Brook, but who like so many others finds it hard to make ends meet. We would have had nowhere to go if Tony had done the “smart” thing and let us go.

What Tony chose was to put the well-being of his employees ahead of personal profit. By keeping us employed he made a short-term sacrifice that has kept us and our families above water in this difficult time in our county’s history. Not too many business owners would make that decision – that Tony did shows you the character of the man, and his desire to help others in need as best he can.

This, in part, is why we’re proud to support Tony as he runs for Somerset County Freeholder this November. We know that his character, together with his impressive record of making things better as a Bound Brook Councilman, will be as much help to the people of Somerset County as he’s been for us. We resent the unfair attacks made on him by his opponents in the Somerset County Freeholder race – they don’t tell the true story about who Tony is and why he acted as he did. He’s not only a responsible and successful businessman but a truly decent man with the desire to do what’s right. We ask the voters to give him and his running mate, Joan Pritchard the chance to do just that on November 4th.
