A 26-year-old New Brunswick man escaped serious injury Feb. 15 after he was shot several times in his hands and torso on Ambrose Street, authorities said.
Township police and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office are asking for the public’s help in locating the person who shot the unidentified man.
A press release from the prosecutor’s office said that township police received a 9-1-1 call at about 12:39 a.m. that a person had been shot on Ambrose Street. Responding officers could not locate a victim, but a pool of blood was seen on the street.
While establishing a perimeter around the scene, the release said, police received word that a man was being treated at a local hospital for gunshot wounds.
Police interviewed the victim at the hospital and determined that it was he who had been shot, the release said.
The victim’s wounds were not considered to be life-threatening, according to the release.
