New Brunswick Man Charged With Theft From Dry Cleaner

somerset prosecutorA 55-year-old New Brunswick man has been charged in connection with a theft from a Hamilton Street dry cleaner, police said.

Clarence Davis was charged with 3rd Degree Theft, according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Franklin Police received a report of a theft from the business on May 31, according to the report. The business owner said that some time between May 24 and May 28, someone broke into a lockbox in the store and stole several watches and pieces of jewelry.

An investigation led police to Davis, the release said.

Davis was arrested at 10:15 p.m. May 31 on Battle Place.

Davis was remanded to the Somerset County Jail, Somerset, on $20,000 bail, with a 10 percent option, where he remained as of June 2, according to court records.
