Life Story: John Nadzak, 72; Entrepreneur, Pro Bowler, Rock Musician

John Edward Nadzak of Somerset passed away Nov. 22 at St. Peter’s Medical Center, New Brunswick. He was 72.

Born in Carbondale, Pa., he resided in the Fords section of Woodbridge before moving to Somerset 40 years ago. Mr. Nadzak was a self-made man who started his own business of water softening and conditioning over 50 years ago. He was a guitarist in a Rock & Roll band in the 60s. He was a professional bowler for many years, and was a member of the Professional Bowlers Association.

John was avid gardener plus he loved to paint in oils. He was an excellent craftsman and woodworker, and was a former member of the Somerset Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Pamala (Cobb) Nadzak; two children, John E. of New Brunswick and Katharine Amanda An Brzozowski and her husband Kevin of Beachwood; three step-children, Kimberly, Jennifer and Jason; one sister, Debbie Coulson of Wantage, and 14 grandchildren. John was so loved by his family, friends and customers, he will surely be missed.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Nov. 28 the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Nov. 27 .

Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
