Life Story: Florence Hart, 97; Life Member Of Order Of The Eastern Star

Florence Hart, of Somerset, passed away on November 22 at the Spring Hills Assisted Living in Somerset. She was 97.


Born in Jersey City and raised in Lyndhurst, she lived in Newark then the Morgan section of Sayreville for more than 50 years before moving to New Bern, North Carolina. She has lived in Somerset for the past 12 years.


She was a homemaker, a member of the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church and a Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Florence also loved children and enjoyed babysitting and volunteering at preschools in New Bern. She also enjoyed knitting and plastic embroidery.


Her husband, John Hart, died in 2010. She was also predeceased by her parents, Edward and Helen Martin; brother, Theodore Martin, and sister, Helen Parisio.


Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Casale of Somerset and Virginia and Dennis Kostulakos of Cumming, Georgia; sister, Evelyn Anderson of Oakland; grandchildren, Connie, John and Jonathan (wife, Kelley), and great-grandchildren, Collin and Lillian.


Private cremation services have been handled under the professional direction of the Gleason Funeral Home, Somerset. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
