Julia Barbara Sanchez passed away on September 16. She was 96 years old and a lifelong resident of New Jersey. She last resided in Sunrise of Marlboro, New Jersey.
Julia grew up in South River, New Jersey, attended South River High School and was a seamstress in the garment factories of South River, before she married her husband Florencio (Fritz) Sanchez from New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1946.
Julia’s father (Andrew Guzik) and her mother (Anna (Byrski) Guzik) predeceased her in 1951 and 1955. She was the last of the four Guzik sisters (Helen Doerr, Mary Nebus, and Betty Klein). Her husband Florencio Sanchez, a World War II veteran, predeceased her in 1992. She is survived by their three children: Andrew Sanchez who lives with his wife Patricia in Freehold, her daughters Barbara Miller and husband Philip Miller ESQ. also residing in Freehold and Pamela Terkovich and husband Branko who live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She has six cherished grandchildren living in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Washington State.
Julia was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in South Bound Brook and a member of their Rosary Alter Society. Julia and her husband were residents of Franklin Township since 1959, where they raised their family. She was a longtime member of the Franklin Township Senior Citizens where she enjoyed traveling and spending time with lifelong friends. Fondest memories of all who knew Julia include her wonderful cooking and baking skills.
Julia will be missed by her family, neighbors, and the many friends she made during her lifetime.

Visiting will take place on Monday September 26 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. Services will begin on Tuesday September 27 at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. funeral mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church in South Bound Brook. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.
