Joan Rossell passed away on Sunday afternoon at her home in Jamesburg. She was 74 years old.
Mrs. Rossell was born in Perth Amboy to Anthony and Rose Badessa. She lived in New Brunswick and Somerset before moving to Jamesburg where she has lived for close to 50 years.
She loved to bowl and trips to Atlantic City where she would work on winning slot machine jackpots. She was a longtime member of both the Somerset and New Brunswick Moose Lodge. Her passion was tending to the needs of the many children who she would provide childcare for.
She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Diane Magee and a grandson, Thomas Duffy.
Mrs. Rossell is survived by her husband of 40 years, Clyde Rossell of Jamesburg; her daughter, Karen Duffy and her husband Thomas of Somerset; her siblings, Fred Badessa and his wife Ruth of Florida, Rose Marie Daves of Georgia, and Frances Paulina of Florida; her grandchildren, Krystle Duffy, Nicholas Rossell and Emma and Kayla Dash, and step daughters Michelle Rossell and Melonie Dash, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 5-9 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. A funeral ceremony will take place on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal services will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
