Jake Fox Returns To Somerset

foxnewsBridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have re-signed the 2013 Atlantic League Player of the Year Jake Fox.

 

Fox was leading the Atlantic League with 25 home runs and 82 RBI and was among the league leaders in several offensive categories including a .310 batting average before signing to play for the Arizona Diamondbacks last season. Despite playing in 96 games for Somerset last year, Fox’s numbers still ranked among the top in the league against players that played an entire season with their teams.

 

Fox followed up his tremendous 2013 season with an even more impressive 2014, splitting the year in Mexico and Double-A for the Philadelphia Phillies. Before joining the Patriots this season, Fox hit a combined .307 with 154 hits, 31 doubles, 38 home runs, and 116 RBI in 135 games played for Laguna and Reading.

 

Fox briefly played for Somerset during the 2012 season and hit .388 with 31 hits, six doubles, a triple, seven home runs, and 20 RBI in 21 games before signing with the Philadelphia Phillies in early August.

 

Fox spent parts of the 2011 season at the Major League and Triple-A level with the Baltimore Orioles. He had 15 hits, four doubles, a triple, two homeruns, and six RBI in 27 games during his time with Baltimore. While at Triple-A, he batted .275, with 73 hits, 19 doubles, 12 homeruns, and 58 RBI in 68 games.

 

In 2010 he split time in the Major Leagues with both the Oakland Athletics and the Orioles. While with both clubs he combined for 43 hits, 10 doubles, seven homeruns, and 32 RBI in 77 games.

 

In addition to his time with the Orioles and Athletics, he also has Major League experience with the Chicago Cubs in 2007 and 2009.

 

During his career, Fox has spent parts of four seasons at the Major League level, where he has accumulated 116 hits, 28 doubles, two triples, 20 homeruns, and 73 RBI in 193 career games.

 

He has a Minor League career batting average of .293 with 1,122 hits, 266 doubles, 12 triples, 211 home runs, and 744 RBI in 1,042 games.
