The Franklin Township High School boys’ bowling team improved their record to 2 and 1 while handing the Edison High School team its first loss in a match Dec. 6 at Brunswick Zone – Carolier Lanes in North Brunswick.
The girls team is still in search of its first win, falling to the Edison girls 4-0 at the same venue.
The Franklin boys won two of the three matches – their only loss by one pin – with total scores of 986 to 987, 997 to 925 and 979 to 873.
Senior Sergey Eccles led his team with a pin total of 670 (259, 191, 220). He was followed by Senior Nicholas Chow’s 623 (217, 190, 216); Sophomore Dylan Coker’s 590 (169, 209, 212); Senior Kevin Greene’s 550 (156, 223, 171); Junior Joseph Thigpen’s 514 (169, 168, 177) and Senior Muntasir Cooper’s 510 (172, 184, 154).
The girls’ team fell by scores of 732-782, 825-899 and 704-773.
Junior Alanna Merrit led her team with a total pin count of 557 (158, 237, 162). Following her was Senior Brianna Barfield with 517 (181, 210, 126); Senior Alexis Chyz with 442 (159, 134, 149) and Freshman Shyann Hester with 388 (106, 148, 134). Senior Nadia Pittman totaled 297 in the two games she bowled (128, 169).
Four girls rolled one game each: Junior Samierra Smith, 133; Freshman Malayah Jennings, 95; Junior Kourtney Laming, 85 and Junior Jameria Guinyard, 73.
