The Franklin High School girls’ bowling team continued their wining ways Jan. 14 with a 5-2 win over Hunterdon Central at West Hunterdon Lanes in Frenchtown.
The Franklin girls won the first and third games with total pin counts of 682-653 and 772-695.
Hunterdon Central squeaked by in the second game, edging Franklin 681-680.
Junior Alanna Merrit led all bowlers with a 529 (175, 182, 172). She was followed by senior Alexis Chyz with 447 (170, 118, 159); senior Nadia Pittman with 423 (114, 139, 170) and freshman Shyann Hester with 402 (125, 124, 153).
Freshman Sara Goyal rolled a 317 (98, 101, 118); freshman Malayah Jennings scored 222 (0, 117, 105) and freshman Melissa White rolled a 75 in the first game.
The match win boosts the Franklin girls’ record to 4-7 for the season.
