Philip Malavarca comes to Spencer Savings Bank with 15 years of commercial lending experience, according to a press release from the bank. The owners of an East Brunswick-based Thai restaurant are banking on their proven recipe for success working in the township. Thai Palace opened up at 2 John F. Kennedy Boulevard on April 4, taking over a space most recently occupied by Pan Asian restaurant.

Plans are set for the fourth annual job fair sponsored by state Assemblyman Joe Danielsen. The event is set for 1:30-7:30 p.m. April 18 at the Imperia, 1714 Easton Ave.

Peer pressure, of a sort, has resulted in the newest restaurant in the township. The owners of Eli Fish and Grill, Shepa and Abdul Uddin, finally gave in to the pleadings of friends and family to take Abdul’s cooking “mainstream.”

It was a chance trip to a township restaurant that led the owners of Rosalind’s Fashion to pick Franklin as their store’s new home. The store, located in the Village Plaza shopping center at 1075 Easton Ave., held its grand opening on March 31. It occupies the space formerly held by longtime tenant R&R Printing.
