RCDCU Awards Luncheon Set For Pines Manor

Eleven prostate cancer survivors from three states will be honored November 7 at the annual Renaissance Cyclists Defeating Cancer United Prostate Cancer Survivors Blue Ribbon Crystal Awards Luncheon and Health Forum at the Pines Manor, 2085 Route 27, Edison.

The event, which begins at noon, will blend vital health education, a premium buffet lunch, and a unique national award ceremony.

The Forum features a powerful lineup of two renowned keynote speakers:

  • Noble Thomas R. Hughes, Sr. the 47th Imperial Potentate and member of the Board of Directors of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles Mystic Shrine of North & South America and its jurisdictions, Inc. (A.E.A.O.N.M.S.)
  • Mr. Adrian Council, Sr, the prominent Co-Founder and Publisher of “the Positive Community Magazine”, a leading media voice for regional civic and faith-based community growth.

The highlight of the afternoon remains the presentation of the RCDCU Prostate Cancer Survivors Blue Ribbon Crystal Award.  Unlike traditional milestones based purely on medical benchmarks, this specific award is unique to RCDCU because it honors advocacy. It is given exclusively to survivors who bravely agree to break the cultural silence by making their cancer battles public to inspire other men to get tested.

This year’s awards expands across state lines, bringing together nine advocates from New Jersey, one from New York and one from Maryland.
