Police: Ambrose Street Residents Assaulted, Robbed During Home Invasion

Four Ambrose Street residents were assaulted and robbed in their home June 1 by a trio of men brandishing weapons, police said.

The residents, who were not identified, told police that they were pistol-whipped by three men who forced themselves into the home. The victims told police that their assailants were brandishing two handguns and one shotgun.

The men said they were forced to lie on the floor.

The victims sustained minors bruises and lacerations to their heads and faces, but refused medical treatment, according to a release on the attack from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Stolen was cash, cell phones, sneakers and a backpack, police said.

The assailants were described as being black and dressed in black hoodies, black pants and ski masks, according to the release.
