Mrs. Olga Sudia passed away on Christmas day at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 80 years old.
Mrs. Sudia was born in New York City and lived in Brooklyn and Bayside, Queens before moving to Somerset in the mid 1960s.
Mrs. Sudia worked as a Lunch Aide for the Franklin Township Board of Education for more than 30 years. She spent many years at the old Middlebush grade school and retired from the Elizabeth Avenue Grammar School. She loved nothing more than her grandson Michael and spending time with him. She loved to dance and Polka music was her favorite. She was a New York MET’s Baseball fan and enjoyed going to games with her family. Mrs. Sudia was a woman with a tremendous heart and at the same time would speak on things as she would see them. She will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Sudia or Chich as she was so lovingly called by her children was predeceased by her husband Michael in 2002. She is survived by her children, John Sudia and Sandra Sudia both of Somerset; her grandson Michael of Somerset; her brother Michael Chichko and his wife Ricky; sister-in-law Ann Ello of Somerset, and nieces Michelle Hartman (Husband Dave and children Michael, Alex, Christopher) Kim Reese (Husband Walter) Cindy Ello (Daughter Katherine) Linda Ello (Son Mark).
Visiting will be held from 4-8 PM on December 28 at the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. A funeral service will begin at 10 AM on December 29 at the funeral home. Please arrive by 9:45. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
