Township Resident Prepares To Kick Off 2017 State Senate Run

Township resident Daryl Kipnis will kick off his 2017 state Senate campaign with a Jan. 5 event at the Imperia on Easton Avenue.

Township resident Daryl Kipnis will kick off his 2017 state Senate campaign with a Jan. 5, 2017 reception at The Imperia, 1714 east Ave.

Kipnis, an attorney, hopes to win the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent and presumptive Democratic nominee state Sen. Bob Smith for the 17th District seat, which represents Franklin, Milltown, New Brunswick, North Brunswick and Piscataway.

The reception is scheduled for 6:30-9:30 p.m.

In a release about his candidacy, Kipnis said he will give a resounding and powerful voice to all New Jersey residents, and will advocate for their ability to provide for their families, or to start them.

The issues on which Kipnis plans to campaign are:

• Repeal the gas tax increase
• Eliminate needless regulations and replace them with incentives to promote development of all businesses of every size, and enable the arrival of innovative ventures entirely new to the State with a view towards creating jobs and wealth for the people of New Jersey
• Review and streamline government processes (including bidding on government contracts, facilitating purchasing, and generally improving
  “customer service”)
• End the vicious cycle of irresponsible taxation, borrowing, and spending, and explore new possibilities to responsibly generate and utilize State revenue without compromising the “bottom lines” of residents
• Secure property tax relief though school funding reform, while promoting real choice and greatness in all types of education for the youth of our State
• Find solutions to honor the State’s responsibilities to fund public employees’ pensions without creating financial burdens on the general public
• Support our law enforcement officers and improve their ability to keep their communities safe and secure
• Safeguard the Constitutional liberties of our people
• Respect and Protect Animal rights
• Raise awareness for autism and support all families to have access to the services that they need
• Support GMO labeling and promote local organic farming
• Encourage environmental cleanup and wildlife protection and conservation
• Stop the flight of both individual and institutional taxpayers out of the State
• Serve as a real friend to the community, providing the ultimate in constituent services, transparency, and accessibility to government.

“Even with all the adversity we face, the path to prosperity has never been more clear: We must elect leaders at every level of government who will never stop listening to the concerns of the people, never stop working to find a way to eliminate any and all obstacles in the path of our economic success imposed or otherwise created by past administrations, and ultimately, transform the unfortunate culture that has permeated government throughout our State into one For The People, By The People,” Kipnis said in the release.

“I stepped out of my ‘comfort zone’ by entering into the arena as a first-time candidate for office, having resolved to be a tireless force for the solution to all that which plagues our great state,” he said in the release. “I ask that people do the same, in their own way, by coming out to vote for those candidates that will always keep them, their families, and communities close at heart – which is what I will do. Always.”
