Township Resident Leads Social Service Agency’s Award-Winning Recreation Program

A program run by township resident Jacqueline Archer-Kennedy was recently given an award by a state commission.

The NJ Commission on Recreation for Individuals With Disabilities presented Raritan-based Alternatives, Inc. with its 2014 New Jersey Distinguished Agency Recreation Services Non-Profit Award at an April 30 ceremony.

Archer-Kennedy is Alternatives, Inc.’s recreation manager.

The commission “recognized Alternatives for remaining committed to offering all of our clients varied, affordable and fun recreational opportunities in these challenging and ever changing economic times,” according to a press release about the award.

Alternatives provides residential, employment, and support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness and many other special needs in Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Warren counties, according to the release.
