Township Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old

A 45-year-old township man faces charges that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old in June.

Felipe Dasilva was arrested Aug. 17 after an investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit and the Franklin Township Police Department, according to a press release from the prosecutor’s office.

Township police were notified on Aug. 11 that Dasilva sexually assaulted the victim in the township on June 24, according to the release. Dasilva knows the victim, the release said.

Dasilva was charged with 2nd Degree Sexual Assault and 3rd Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, according to the release.

Dasilva remains lodged in the Somerset County Jail, Somerville, on $100,000 cash bail, according to the release.
