Township Council Commends Cedar Hill Prep Robotics Teams

5-10-16 Meeting - 1

Members of the Cedar Hill Prep School robotics teams accept their commendations from the Township Council.

Two Cedar Hill Preparatory School robotics teams were honored May 10 by the Township Council for their qualification for a world championship tournament in Germany.

The teams won “Best Overall” and “Best Programming” at the RoboCup Junior USA Championship in April in New York City.

Their wins send them to the RoboCup Junior World Championship in Leipzig, Germany at the end of June.

Teams coach Neetika Bhalla said the students “were not expecting anything out there.”

“We were a rookie team,” she said. “I hope this will inspire us to take it to the next level.”

Calling robotics “a fascinating thing” and the wave of the future, Mayor Phillip Kramer told the students that they “have a great start.”

“I wish you luck in the future,” he said.
