Township Council Approves Purchase, Contract Amendments

The purchase of a data storage unit and amendments to several contracts were approved by the Township Council at its Oct. 24 meeting.

The council approved a $70,000 contract with Starnet Solutions of Farmingdale for a data storage unit to replace an aging one in the township’s data center.

The purchase was made through a state contract.

A $25,000 contract with Vital Communications Inc. of Trenton was also approved by the council. The contract is for the continued provision of proprietary software by Vital, which processes the tax assessments and tax notices and bills for the township.

An originally $8,500 contract with Kratos for repairs, maintenance and upgrades to the police department’s door access system was increased to $11,000 by the council.

A $29,100 contract with Queues Enforth Development Inc. of Malden, Mass., for Police Department records management and dispatch software, was increased by the council to $38,000.

The council also rejected all eight bids submitted for the first phase of the Hamilton Street sidewalk project becasue information was left out of the bid packet. The project will be re-bid at a future date.
