Spring Hills Assisted Living Hosts ‘PawFest’ For Pets And Their Owners

The community is invited to Spring Hills Somerset Assisted Living, 473 DeMott Lane, for “PawFest” from 1-3 p.m. on Oct. 22.

The family friendly event is highlighted by a costumed pet parade through the building, trick or treating for the pets and kids, and pictures and refreshments for all. Owners are welcome to dress up in costumes matching their pets. Guests are asked to bring donations of pet food, blankets and treats for donation to a local pet shelter.

“For elderly pet owners, pets are more than just a companion,” Adrianne Hall, Executive Director at Spring Hills Somerset Assisted Living, said in a release about the event. “They can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, increase social interaction and physical activity, and help them learn. That’s why we encourage residents to move in with their small pets. We are thrilled to celebrate these pets with the community during PawFest.”

Guests are welcome to bring their own pets, dressed in costumes, on leashes for the pet parade. Refreshments for both the dogs and their owners will be served after the parade.
