South Middlebush Road House Destroyed In Early Morning Fire

An unoccupied house on South Middlebush Road was destroyed in an early morning fire on Sept. 6.

There were no injuries reported in the fire, according to a press release from the Franklin Township Police Department.

Police responded to the structure fire shortly before 5 a.m., according to the release.

Firefighters from Middlebush Fire Department, Elizabeth Avenue Fire Department, Little Rocky Hill Fire Department, Franklin Park Fire Department, Millstone Valley Fire Department, Griggstown Fire Department, Community Fire Department and Hillsborough Fire Department assisted in fighting the blaze, according to the release.

Also on hand were representatives from the Franklin Township Office of Fire Prevention, Franklin Township Office of Emergency Management, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, Somerset County Office of Emergency Management and Somerset County Mutual Aid Fire Coordinators, according to the release.

South Middlebush Road was closed between Claremont Road and Cortelyous Lane during the fire and the following investigation.
