FR&A Pictorial: Somerset Patriots Win Season Opener In 15 On Jonny Tucker Walk Off Double

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Long Island Ducks 3-2 in 15 innings before 7,080 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday night to open the 2014 season.

Jonny Tucker won it for Somerset on a walk off double in the bottom of the 15th inning.

The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a lead off solo home run by Dennis Raben (1).

The Ducks claimed the lead with two runs in the top of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Lew Ford and an RBI single by Ryan Strieby to make the score 2-1.

Somerset answered to tie up the game with an RBI triple by Nate Spears in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Derell McCall (1-0) picked up the win with two scoreless innings pitched. Casey Barnes (0-1) suffered the loss with 0.2 innings pitched.

The 2014 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Saturday night with a 7:05 pm game against the Ducks. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a T-Shirt presented by TD Bank. For tickets, call (908) 252-0700 or visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
