“We are extremely excited to have Eggy back with us this season.  He was a huge part of our success last year.  He is an extremely tough out that knows how to play the game.  Aharon is a very smart player that you can depend on to get the job done.  His bat can play almost anywhere in the lineup and he can play all outfield positions well,” said Brett Jodie, manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

Prior to joining the Patriots, Eggleston had experience in the Northern League, Atlantic League, and American Association.

He spent 2012 at Fargo-Moorhead and finished with a .277 batting average with 43 hits, seven doubles, and 14 RBI in 38 games played.

In 2011 at Kansas City, Eggleston hit .324 with 101 hits, 23 doubles, six home runs, and 49 RBI in 82 games played.

He appeared in 12 games for the York Revolution of the Atlantic League during the 2009 season.

He has a minor league career .308 batting average, 883 hits, 158 doubles, 24 triples, 32 home runs, 383 RBI, and 144 stolen bases in 743 games played.

Abreu has experience in the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies organizations, reaching the Triple-A level during three seasons. He spent most of the 2013 season at the Double-A level in Reading, playing in 36 games.  Abreu also played briefly in Lehigh Valley at the Triple-A level last season.

For his career, Abreu is a .263 hitter with 844 hits, 160 doubles, 21 triples, 52 home runs, and 350 RBI in 878 games played.

“Miguel is a true utility player and very good defensively at all positions. He has great tools and great speed.  I think he will be that spark in the lineup that energizes the rest of the team.  I have gotten great feedback about him from many players and we are thrilled to have Miguel as part of our Patriot family,” said Jodie.
