Employees of Somerset Family Physical Therapy are joining a former patient in her quest to raise money for an autism-related charity and are looking to the public for sponsors.

The charity, Central Jersey Autism Speaks, was chosen by Joan, the former patient, because her grandson Chris has autism.

After Joan finished her therapy, she joined the practice’s gym program because, she said, she wanted to be be able to walk a 5k by the end of the summer. Staff told her that not only would they help her, but they would walk it with her.

The 5k is set for Oct. 14. The Somerset Therapy team would welcome fellow walkers or sponsors.

All sponsors’ names will be printed on a puzzle piece, which will be hung throughout the Somerset Family Physical Therapy offices until the walk.

Anyone wishing to join the team or sponsor a puzzle piece can do so by stopping by the office at 14M Worlds Fair Drive.
