Randall Pinkett: No Question In My Mind That Trump Is A Racist

Township resident and “Apprentice” winner Randall Pinkett, seen here speaking at the 2015 MLK Foundation Community Breakfast, said there was “no question in my mind” that Pres. Donald Trump is a racist.

President Donald Trump is “vying for the most racist person I’ve ever met,” a township resident who was the 2005 winner of Trump’s “The Apprentice” television program said on a national news program on Jan. 12.

Randall Pinkett, co-founder of a Newark-based consultancy, said on the “All In With Chris Hayes” program on MSNBC that Trump once defended against charges of racism by pointing to Pinkett.

“I remember when he was asked how he defends against racism, he said, ‘well, I hired Randall.’ It’s like saying, “I hired my black friend’,” Pinkett told Joy Reid, who was subbing for the regular host.

“There’s no question in my mind that he’s a racist,” Pinkett said.

After winning the fourth season competition on “The Apprentice,” Pinkett “served as an executive with Trump Entertainment Resorts in Atlantic City, where he was responsible for overseeing both renovation and information technology projects,” according to his web site.

“People were afraid to name him a racist early on, because there was some reticence, maybe political correctness, but as you look at the history, I grew up near New York, so you look at what’s happened in New York, the housing discrimination, his treatment of Black Lives Matter protestors, all we have seen is a pattern of racism that has been consistently across Donald Trump’s career, so there’s no question in my mind that he’s a racist,” he said.

“Now the question is, how are Republicans going to respond in light of this continued pattern, which is putting them into a corner?” Pinkett said. “And I’m really disappointed in people like Paul Ryan, who in my opinion has been less and less vocal as time has progressed in denouncing Donald’s behavior.”

Democrats, Pinkett said, must re-evaluate how they deal with the Trump Administration.

“I think it’s time for (U.S. Sen. Chuck) Schumer and (U.S. Rep. Nancy) Pelosi and the Democrats to really rethink their strategy,” he said. “Up to now there’s been this dance that’s gone on with this administration, do we want to work together, do we want to go against it? We know how they treated Obama, they were clear from day one, our agenda is to shut down everything this guy does.”

“I think the Democrats really have to dig in and say, are there more sophisticated ways, whether it’s legal grounds, whether it’s the courts, that can begin to pry away, if not shut down, what he’s trying to do,” Pinkett said.
