Police: Somerset Man Among Two Charged In Connection With Teen’s Death

A 22-year-old township man was among two men charged Feb. 24 in connection with the apparent drug-related death of a 17-year-old girl.

Andrew A. Lindo of Somerset and William A. King, 22, of Edison, were charged with 3rd Degree endangering the welfare of a child, 3rd Degree hindering apprehension and 4th Degree tampering with physical evidence, police said.

Lindo and King are currently being held in the Middlesex County Jail, North Brunswick, on $75,000 bail each, according to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police were called to the Hilton Garden Inn at Raritan Center, Edison, at about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 and found the victim, Rose Carlin of the Fords section of Woodbridge, in a motel room. Carlin was pronounced dead at 4:41 p.m., according to the release.

An investigation by Edison police Det. Michael S. Michalski and Middlsex County Prosecutor’s Det. Gregory Morris indicated that Carlin’s death was drug-related, according to the release. A final cause of death will not be determined until an autopsy is performed, according to the release.
