Township police are seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of a car that may have damaged the historic Griggstown bridge tender’s station.

On Feb. 6, police were alerted to damage to the station, located at the Griggstown Causeway off Canal Road, according to a press release from the FTPD.

The station was last seen undamaged on Dec. 31, 2017, according to the release.

Evidence recovered at the scene points to the vehicle being a 2006-2007 Dodge Dakota Pick-Up with a club cab, according to the release.  The truck should have passenger-side front-end damage, including a broken headlight.  The color of the vehicle is unknown at this time, according to the release.

The crash is being investigated by the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Officer Jose Jaime at 732-873-5533 extension 3143 or at jose.jaime@twp.franklin.nj.us.
