Oct. 6

Vinod Arige of Iselin was cited for careless driving after his car rear-ended one driven on Claremont Road by Oghenerab Asama of New Brunswick.

§

Molly Lee of Franklin Park was cited for careless driving after her car rear-ended one driven on South Middlebush Road by Liu Wei of Dayton.

Oct. 7

An 8-foot section of fence, valued at $1,200, was removed from a Kingsberry Drive yard.

§

Chibuikem Nwanonyiri of Somerset was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving on South Middlebush Road rear-ended one driven by Janet Podell opt Highland Park. The impact pushed Podell’s car into one driven by Sophia Santiago of Somerset.

§

Joseline Ramirez of Somerset was cited for careless driving after her car collided with a car driven by Dana Laselva of Somerset. Laselva was backing out of a driveway when Ramirez’s car went around another stopped car and the two collided.

§

Ahmed Plummer of Plainfield was cited for driving while suspended, failure to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident after the car he was driving on Cottontail Lane rear-ended one driven by Michael Saydek of Easton, Pa. Police said Plummer left the scene after the accident. Saydek gave police his license plate number. Plummer said he fled because he was afraid that his license was not valid.

Oct. 8

A window was broken on a car parked on DeMott Lane, and more than $400 worth of items was stolen.

A woman left Scarlet knight Liquors on Hamilton Street without paying for two bottles of cognac worth $26.

§

Gary Hand of Kendall Park was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving on South Middlebush Road rear-ended a car driven by Nahesh Joshi of Princeton. Hand said he stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.

Oct. 9

Someone tried to break into a Home Street home by prying off a window screen and smashing a window. There was no entry gained.

§

Someone threw eggs at a car parked on Wycombe Place.

§

Virginia Oquendo of Somerset was cited for careless driving after the car she was driving rear-ended one driven on South Middlebush Road by Elizabeth Jackson of Clinton.

§

Mohamed Jalloh of North Brunswick was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving collided with one driven on Route 27 by Linda Song of Edison. Song said Jalloh’s car cut in front of hers while he was pulling out of a parking lot.

§

Oct. 10

Two motorized dirt bikes stored in a barn of a Canal Road road home were stolen. The bikes were valued at $3,800.

§

A brick was thrown at the windshield of a car parked on Mindy Drive.

§

Paula Sefin of Jersey City was cited for careless driving after the car she was driving collided with one driven on Franklin Boulevard by Amanthia Toro of Carteret. Sefin was making a turn from a driveway, and said she did not see Toro’s car.

Oct. 11

Raza Manzar, 33, of Franklin Park, was charged with shoplifting after he allegedly tried to leave Stop and Shop on Route 27 without paying for $241 worth of items.

§

A Mindy Drive resident said someone threw a rock at a window in his home, damaging it.

§

An Edith Drive resident said someone damaged a window in his home with a rock.

§

A Victoria Drive resident said that someone damaged his home’s front door with a rock.

§

Claudio Azevedo of Elizabeth was cited for careless driving after he told police that he fell asleep while driving on Hamilton Street, causing his car to leave the road, hit three trees and take down cable wires on a utility pole.

§

Oct. 12

Qiana Gorrell of New Brunswick told police that she fell asleep as she was driving on Franklin Boulevard, near Norma Avenue, and her car left the road and hit a utility pole.

§

Shana McDonough of Hillsborough was driving down Canal Road when, she said, she had to swerve to avoid hitting a deer. her car left the road, hilt a tree, and ended up in a ditch.
