Police Log: Nov. 7 – 10, 2013

Someone broke a side window at Delta Auto Repair & Service, Hamilton Street, on the night of Nov. 7, police said. No entry was gained into the building.

Armando Garcia of New Brunswick was cited Nov. 8 for careless driving and driving without a license after he was involved in an accident with a car driven by Willie Lemons Jr. of Trenton. Police said Garcia was driving down Route 27 when his car struck the rear of Lemons’ car.

Bhanu Veerapalle of Somerset told police Nov. 8 that he was practicing parking in the Extended Stay America lot on Worlds Fair Drive – on his learner’s permit – when he stepped on the gas rather than the brake. The car he was driving jumped the curb and hit the building. He was cited for careless driving.

Jue Wang of Morristown was cited for careless driving Nov. 8 after the car she was driving rear-ended one driven by Kent Scriven of Piscataway. The two cars were in stop-and-go traffic on Davidson Avenue, police said. Wang told police she thought Scriven’s car had moved up when she hit it.

Alejandro Ayala of New Brunswick was cited Nov. 9 for improper passing after his car struck one driven by Jingdong Xie of West Windsor. Xie told police he was turning left from Route 27 into a driveway when Ayala’s car hit his in the shoulder, after passing a car that had stopped to let Xie turn. Ayala said he was in the shoulder to turn right into a gas station.

A car driven by Vienna Pharaon of Somerset was turning left from the Willow Avenue jug handle onto Easton Avenue Nov. 10 when it was struck by a car driven by Rikjan Duivenvoorde, also of Somerset. Duivenvoorde was cited for failure to observe the red traffic light.

John Wilson of Somerset told police Nov. 10 that he did not see that a car driven by Labron Felder, also of Somerset, was stopped in front of his on Hamilton Street before his car rear-ended Felder’s. Felder told police he was waiting to make a left turn onto Highland Avenue when his car was struck.

§

A John F. Kennedy Boulevard resident told police Nov. 10 that someone entered his car and stole $520 worth of items, including an iPad Mini. The victim told police the iPad, valued at $350, was in a backpack on his back seat. Also stolen was a denim jacket valued at $65 and two iPad cases valued at $75. The victim told police that he had remotely locked his iPad.
