Police Log: Nov. 20, 2013

Police shieldKimberly Briganti of Raritan Borough told police she was driving down Easton Avenue when the car ahead of hers, driven by Emma Holbrook of North Plainfield, stopped suddenly. Briganti said she could not avoid hitting the rear of Holbrook’s car. The impact sent Holbrook’s car into one ahead of hers, driven by Ruth Betzer of Somerset. Betzer said a car two cars ahead of hers stopped suddenly, so she had to stop.

Daryl James of Somerset was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving collided with one driven by Jennifer Cortes of New Brunswick. Cortes said she was driving down Hamilton Street when James’ car suddenly turned out of Berry Street in front of hers.

Judy Pellegrin of Somerset was cited for careless driving after the car she was driving rear-ended one driven by Scott Selikoff of Bridgewater. Selikoff told police that he was turning right onto Worlds Fair Drive from Easton Avenue when his car was hit. Pelligrin said Selikoff had his left turn signal on, but turned right.

Ernest Sobkow of Bethlehem, Pa. was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving rear-ended one driven by Andrei Alexandrescu of Niantic, Ct., which was stopped for traffic on Davidson Avenue. The impact forced Alexandrescu’s car into the rear of one driven by William Wranitz of Auburn, Pa.
