Police Log: March 15 – March 21, 2017

March 15

• Abdul Hunter, 27, of Carteret, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
• Bogdan Oleksuk of Somerset was driving down Easton Avenue when a deer jumped the concrete median and ran in front of his car. Oleksuk’s car hit the deer, then came to a stop. A car driven by Patrick Nurthen of Ocean rear-ended Oleksuk’s car. A car driven by Carol Hubner of East Brunswick rear-ended Nurthen’s car, and a car driven by David Fink of Spotswood rear-ended Hubner’s.
• Kodjovi Afanyihoun of North Brunswick was cited for failure to observe traffic signals after his car went through a red light at Franklin Boulevard and Hamilton Street and was hit by a car driven by Matthew Knaus of Jersey City. Knaus’ car then struck a stopped car driven by Dale Caldwell of New Brunswick. Afanyihoun said his brakes did not work. Caldwell was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle.
• Shanyea McRae of Roselle was cited for careless driving after her car slid into the intersection of Davidson Avenue and New Brunswick Road and collided with a car driven by Joseph Thomas of Franklin Park. Police said McRae was driving too fast for the road conditions.
• Kristen Hagemann of Rocky Hill was cited for careless driving after her car rear-ended one driven on Pierce Street by Patrick McCabe of New York.

March 16

• Someone entered an Exeter Court home through an unlocked door and took a house key.
• Michael Nickerson, 48, of New Brunswick, was arrested at the Middlesex County Jail on an outstanding township warrant.

March 17

• Someone forced their way into a vacant home on Hillview Avenue.
• A wallet was reported stolen from a Barron Circle location.
• Richard Adjei, 19, of Somerset, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Branchburg during a motor vehicle stop.
• Jennifer Perillo, 24, of Staten Island, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Edison during a motor vehicle stop.
• Stanley Dukes, 47, of Somerset, surrendered to police at headquarters for an outstanding warrant.
• Gretchen Fahrenbruch of Princeton Junction was cited for failure to keep right after her car was involved in a head-on collision on Suydam Road with a car driven by Felicia Fishman of Franklin Park. Fahrenbruch said she did not realize she was driving in the wrong lane at the time of the crash.

March 18

• A DeMott Lane resident reported that a package containing a drone worth $1,300 was stolen from their front porch on March 6.
• A wallet valued at $20 was stolen from an unlocked car parked Berry Street and Voorhees Avenue.
• A bottle of Paul Masson brandy, valued at $25, was stolen from an Easton Avenue store.
• Laximkant Bhoiwala of New York was cited for careless driving after his car turned from the right lane on Easton Avenue, near Cedar Grove Lane, across the left lane and collided with a car driven by Samuel Djan of Plainfield.
• Carel Smith of North Brunswick was cited for careless driving after her car was involved in a head-on collision on Rolling Hills Drive with a car driven by Radha Desai of Somerset. Desai said she was approaching a bend in the road and saw Snith’s car coming at hers, in her lane. Police noted the road was narrowed due to plowed snow.
• Nicolas Francis of Somerset was cited for a license plate violation after his car struck a snow bank on Amwell Road. Francis said he slid on ice and hit the snow.

March 19

• A 2017 Honda Accord was damaged while it was parked in an Easton Avenue lot.
• Devin Godfrey-Phipps, 40, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

March 20

• The glass door on a Somerset Street building was kicked in.
• Vandana Kethey of Morristown was cited for driving while on the suspended list after her car collided with one on Cedar Grove Lane driven by John Kapferer of Robbinsville. Police said Kethey didn’t yield the right-of-way when the lanes merged. A Teddy Bear placed on Kapferer’s passenger seat played no role in the accident, police said.

March 21

• Destiny Robinson , 29, of New Brunswick was arrested on an outstanding township warrant.
• A package containing a coat valued at $80 was stolen from the front porch of a Franklin Boulevard home.
• A jacket valued at $100, medication and personal papers were stolen from an unlocked car parked on Fifteenth Street.
• Jordan Ali, 21, of Somerville, was arrested in Newark on an outstanding township warrant.
• Abdul Kamara, 27, of Somerset was arrested in New Brunswick on an outstanding warrant.
