Police Log: Dec. 12 – 20, 2016

Dec. 12

  • Xbox accessories valued at $710 were stolen from a Skipton Place home. Stolen were an Xbox One, valued at $450; two Xbox One controllers, valued at $50 each; an Xbox video game, valued at $50, and a pair of virtual reality goggles valued at $100.

Dec. 15

  • Edward Arthur of Somerset was driving down Franklin Boulevard when a car driven by Brendon Amos of Somerset pulled out from Baier Avenue in front of his. Amos said he was trying to make a left onto Franklin Blvd.
  • Zubar Ahmad of Somerset was cited for careless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle after he was involved in a 6-car collision on Easton Avenue. Police said Ahmad was stopped behind a car attempting a turn onto Bloomfield Avenue when he decided to go around the car. Ahmad’s car hit the stopped car as his was passing it, and was then rear-ended by one driven by Ramon Morel of New Brunswick. Morel’s car was then rear-ended by one driven by Veronica Condado of Somerset. Condado’s car was then rear-ended by one driven by Bryan Spence of Piscataway. Clifton Steele of Piscataway, who was driving behind Spence’s car, managed to stop in time to avoid hitting his car, but was then rear-ended by a car driven by Ronald Velasquez of Somerset. Velasquez was cited for driving without a license.

Dec. 16

  • Headphones valued at $150, credit cards and personal papers were stolen from  2012 Honda Accord parked on Ambrose Street.

Dec. 17

  • Three Victor watches valued at $450, a work bag valued at $50, a pair of sneakers valued at $200, a pair of Ugg boots valued at $170 and an iPod Touch valued at $150 were stolen from a 2005 Nissan Altima parked on Roberts Road.
  • Someone knocked down the mailbox in front of a Park Lane home. The box was valued at $100.
  • $800 in cash was stolen from a room in a Davidson Avenue hotel.
  • Someone threw a rock through the front window of a Drake Avenue home. The window was valued at $200.

Dec. 18

  • Someone broke into a 2015 Nissan Armada, a 2008 Volvo and a 2014 Ford Edge parked on Girard Avenue. Nothing was stolen.
  • A pair of Nike LeBron sneakers, valued at $150, were stolen from a car parked on Farrell Street.

Dec. 19

  • A man’s wallet valued at $40 and $50 in cash were stolen from an unlocked car parked on Topaz Drive.
  • Someone drove away from an Easton Avenue gas station without paying for the gas.
  • A Hewlett Packard laptop computer, valued at $1,000, was stolen from an unlocked car parked on Cabot Way.

Dec. 20

  • The front passenger’s side window on a 2016 Subaru Outback was smashed while the car was parked on Executive Drive.
  • Someone broke into a Hadler Drive home. The homeowner told police that she left for a lunch date at 10:45 a.m, and when she returned at 3:15 p.m., she saw that her house had been ransacked. Police said entry was probably made through a downstairs window after a brick was thrown through it, and exit was through a rear downstairs door, which was left ajar.
