Philadelphia Man Charged With Burglarizing Township Business Twice In 24 Hours

A 30-year-old Philadelphia man as been charged with burglarizing the same township business twice in less than 24 hours.

Amadou Ba was charged with two counts of 3rd Degree Burglary in connection with the incidents, which occurred on May 3 and 4, according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Township police received an activated burglar alarm signal from a business located on Route 27 in Little Rocky Hill at about 4:10 a.m. on May 3, according to the release.

The responding officer saw a man, later identified as Ba, standing inside the business. The officer asked Ba to come out so they could talk, according to the release, but Ba tried to hide.

When back-up officers arrived, they entered teh business and found Ba hiding under a truck, according to teh release.

Ba was allegedly found with cash from the cash register, and keys from two trucks that were being serviced by the business, according to the release.

Police determined that Ba entered the business through a window, and then removed the alarm panel from a wall to try and silence it.

Ba was processed with the first burglary charge, lodged in the Somerset County Jail in Somerville and then released from custody after his first appearance that day, according to the release.

At about 1:19 a.m. on May 5, township police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a suspicious person at the same Route 27 business, according to the release.

The same officers responded, and saw Ba through a window when they arrived, the release said.

When Ba saw the officers, he allegedly ran to the back of the business, according to the release.

The business’s manager was called, and, after entering with a supplied key, officers allegedly found Ba sitting in the rear office.

Ba was then charged for a second time with 3rd Degree Burglary and once again lodged in the Somerset County Jail, the release said.
