Patriots Top Blue Crabs 3-1

JULY22ndGRAPHICWaldorf, MD – The Somerset Patriots (7-6, 53-29) defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (7-6, 36-47) 3-1 Tuesday evening from Regency Furniture Stadium.

 

In the top of the third inning second baseman Jeff Dominguez hit a RBI infield single to give Somerset an early 1-0 advantage.

 

Left fielder Addison Maruszak evened the contest at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning as he stroked a RBI single.

 

Somerset retook the lead in the top of the seventh inning as catcher Adam Donachie slugged a go ahead two run home run (6) to make the score 3-1.

 

Matt Sommo (3-0) earned the win pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Brad Meyers (0-2) endured the loss as he hurled six innings while allowing three runs on eight hits. Jon Hunton notched his Atlantic League leading 27th save tossing a scoreless ninth inning.
